Tasting notes
Germano's 2012 Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba is dark, ripe and powerful. Super-ripe black cherries, hard candy, sweet spices, leather and menthol give the 2012 its distinctive, up-front personality. The riper side of the year comes through in the slightly roasted, oxidative flavors.

Serralunga d’Alba. Mid ruby with bricky rim. Serious and a little savoury on the nose and cherry and candied fruit on the palate with firm tannins. There is real power and concentration here, yet with a near-perfect balance. This deserves and needs age. (WS)
Skin contact for a total of 25 days. Lustrous mid ruby with orange tinges. Spicy and with fine but subdued cherry fruit. Supple and ripe and with proper depth on the palate. The rich tannins are captured in the fruit. Elegant oak note on the finish. (WS)
