Tasting notes
Saturated ruby. Spice- and smoke-accented black and blue fruits, olive, raw meat and candied flowers on the intensely perfumed nose. Shows excellent depth as well as vivacity to its sweet cassis, cherry preserve, bacon, cola and candied violet flavors. Steadily building tannins frame an impressively long finish that emphatically repeats the olive and dark berry notes.

Produced only in select vintages, the 2018 Cornas Domaine du Coulet Gore is a huge, powerful wine (close to 15% alcohol) that somehow includes intricate complexities and a sense of elegance. Crushed stone notes accent raspberry and cassis fruit in this full-bodied, concentrated wine that retains an edgy, fresh vibe and masses of silky tannins. Biodynamically farmed and aged in a concrete egg, it shows incredible purity and vibrancy on the long, long finish.
