Pliant cherry, black raspberry and floral pastille flavors show outstanding clarity and energetic lift thanks to a spine of juicy acidity. Finishes extremely long and sappy, with repeating spiciness and smooth tannins lending subtle grip.

Villard's 2016 Côte Rôtie La Brocarde comes from a great terroir in the northern part of the appellation and sports a deep purple color as well as notes of blueberries, ground pepper, crushed violets, and olive tapenade. It's a ripe, sexy, lifted beauty that that has terrific mid-palate density, medium to full body, ripe tannins, and a great finish. Drink it over the coming 10-15 years.
