Tasting notes
Good red. Enticing, slightly wild aromas of sour cherry, licorice and menthol. Silky, sweet and concentrated, with broad, almost syrupy-ripe fruit and a lush texture. Finishes with slightly rustic, serious tannins and strong fruit. Very good for this bottling.

Ovello is one of Barbaresco's fresher microclimates, so it can be no surprise that the Barbaresco Riserva Ovello is quite backward at this stage. It is a stunning display of nebbiolo with expressive aromatics, generous fruit, prominent minerality and plenty of personality. Full-bodied and long on the palate, it is still somewhat reticent today, although all the ingredients are clearly in place for this to offer outstanding drinking in a few years' time.
