Tasting notes
The 2014 Barolo Cannubi offers limited depth and complexity in this vintage. There is god silkiness and pliancy to the red tone fruit, but that is not enough to make up for the wine's lack of depth or structure.

This is one of three single-vineyard expressions from Marchesi di Barolo. The 2014 Barolo Cannubi shows rich and dark color saturation with pretty ruby highlights. That color comes from the well-draining soils of Cannubi that help to concentrate the wine's elegant appearance, aromas and flavors. There is balance and harmony in this vintage, especially where those bright berry aromas are concerned, and the mouthfeel is polished and compact.
Barolo. Tasted blind. Concentrated ruby with bright orange tinges. Cherry liqueur and raspberry coulis on the nose. Marasca cherry and what looks like a touch of apple peel. Juicy fruit with coating tannins that mellow out on the finish. Could have a little more bite even though there is plenty of acidity. (WS)
