Very clear and delicate on the nose is the Maximin Grünhäuser 2013 Abtsberg Riesling Auslese, which is lovely clear and piquant on the palate intermixing its juicy texture with salty slate spices.

Water white. Hardly any botrytis so they used only the very small seedless berries. Lots of white currant ripe fruit without that much subtlety at this stage. Racy and with good energy. Bright fruit and very youthful. (JR)

Lime and green fruited on the nose and palate, only just ripe but beautifully fresh and clean-cut with a mineral smoky aftertaste adding interest. (JH)
