Toasted almond, flint, fresh cream and lemon. Quite ripe, fairly intense citrus, with spice and stones. A bit of finish warmth. (TJ)

The 2018 Meursault Les Grands Charrons, half matured in 500-liter barrels with 20% new oak, has an attractive bouquet of almond, quince and light pressed white flower aromas, plus a light buttery note in the background. The palate is taut and delineated on the entry, featuring lovely orange zest and tangerine notes, and becomes more lime-driven toward the finish, leaving noisettes on the aftertaste. Excellent.

Cask sample. Has the hallmark richness of Meursault, ripe and sleek fruit and a dollop of alcohol. Ripe and rich in an opulent style. (AC)
