Tasted blind at Fine & Rare Wines' Clos Vougeot tasting, the 2013 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru from Louis Latour has a musty and rather green nose that is off-putting. The palate is chewy, rather bitter on the entry with a very dry and severe finish. This just feels completely overworked.

Tasted blind. Pale ruby. A little sweaty on the nose. Lightly fruity. Round and easy without quite the punch one might seek from a grand cru. Timid, I think, sums up this wine. Rather awkward tannins on the end. (JR)

35% whole bunch. Mid ruby. Aromas of sweet cherry and sweet oak spice and orange zest. The oak is a little intrusive at the moment. The palate has a sort of malty milk-chocolate flavour as if the wood is really not quite right in relation to the fruit. Dry and more tannic on the finish than any of the reds so far. Not really melded on the palate. (JH)
