Score 88/100 · Drink 2016-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2016

The 2014 Anthonic felt a little earthy and conservative on the nose, not quite as bright as I remember it from barrel. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, good body with dark berries, boysenberry and cedar, perhaps sandalwood notes. The palate is actually much better than the aromatics at the moment. Drink this over the next 6-8 years. Tasted September 2016.

71% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Sauviginon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. Aged for 18 months in French oak barriques of which 25% were new. Richly scented nose, all violet and plum and milk chocolate. Gets the best from Merlot – gentle texture, plenty of fruit concentration, drinking well now. (RH)
