Tasting notes
The 2020 Château Teyssier (Famille Durand-Teyssier) (90/10 Merlot and Cabernet Franc) has a medium-bodied, nicely concentrated, yet chewy, slightly rustic style that carries quality darker fruits, some leafy herb and underbrush notes, and a good finish. It's well-made and will offer pleasure over the coming 4-6 years.

The 2020 Teyssier is laced with inky dark fruit, crème de cassis, lavender, spice and chocolate. Medium in body, with terrific purity and tons of nuance, Teyssier is a very pretty wine, especially in its price range. There is a bit of grittiness in the tannin that hopefully will soften with aging. This opens beautifully with aeration.
White pepper spice, damson, cocoa bean, plenty of intensity, but no need to wait to begin drinking. 3.5ph, harvest 1-8 October. Low yields after mildew.
The 2020 Teyssier is shaping up to be a real gem. Inky, mineral and wonderfully focused, the 2020 pulses with energy from start to finish. Blackberry jam, graphite, cloves, menthol and lavender build effortlessly. In 2020, the Teyssier is a bit more vibrant and restrained than usual, and that is a positive. There's a lot to look forward to.
