Tasting notes
The 2021 Côtes-du-Rhône comes in slightly below the 2021. Reductive at first, a few minutes of aeration unlock shy red fruits alongside dried herbs and meaty undertones. Much more interesting on the palate than the nose, this 2021 red offers a juicy core of red fruits, finely balanced by refreshing acidity. This should be enjoyed over the next three years.

The 2021 Côtes Du Rhône brings more structure but has similar wild dark fruits, pepper, game, and iron notes in a medium-bodied package. It too is delicious.
Saturated violet. An expressive bouquet evokes black and blue fruits and smoky bacon, along with suggestions of olive and pipe tobacco. Appealingly sweet, smoke- and spice-accented blackberry and cherry liqueur flavors show fine delineation and are braced by a spine of juicy acidity. A smoky mineral nuance builds with air and carries through a long, youthfully gripping finish that echoes the olive and spice notes.
Cask/tank sample. Intense blackberry nose – cassis and roasted meats. Certainly not lacking in structure. The tannins are tight and there is a lifted balsamic note through the wine. Intense and impressive. (AC)
