Tasting notes
Hand-numbered magnum number 18 of 3,392 produced. Date of harvest: 23 September 2008. Intense dark ruby. Truly noble, cool nose of violets, blueberry, blackberry and graphite. Very young and compact but fills the mouth with fine fruit aromas. Fantastic balance of zesty, tangy fruit with just a hint of creamy oak on the finish. Lots of perfectly built, ripe tannins, but far from ready. (WS)

The 2008 Il Caberlot is one of the more approachable vintages of this wine I have ever tasted. Dark red fruit, grilled herbs, espresso and spices are supported by finessed, silky tannins. The 2008 shows excellent length and persistence in an understated style for this Tuscan thoroughbred. It will be interesting to see how the 2008 develops over the coming years. To be released in 2012.
