Tasting notes
This too is aromatically quite restrained and only timidly displays its aromas of ripe red and dark cherry, spice and soft earth wisps. The succulent middle weight flavors are rich to the point of opulence and like the mid-palate of the Charmes, it is borderline creamy that contrasts with the powerful, serious and built-to-age finale. This is excellent and a wine that could reasonably be approached after only 6 to 8 years. Excellent potential here.

Supple and seamless, the 2020 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru (négoce) bursts with aromas of orange rind, cassis, peonies, sweet spices and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, layered and velvety, with melting tannins and an ample core of fruit, it concludes with a long, perfumed finish.
The 2020 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru, which comes from purchased fruit, has a little more complexity than the Charmes-Chambertin, perhaps a touch more mineralité and florality. The palate is very well balanced with a sensual texture, beautifully balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Gentle grip towards the finish, I admire this fans out and makes an impression. Classy.
