Score 92-94/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Dec 2016
Bright dark red. Deeply pitched aromas of blackberry, blueberry, mocha, roasted herbs and earth. Densely packed and youthfully reticent, with dark fruit and saline soil notes showing subtle sweetness but also a firm mineral spine. The wine's solid tannins are nicely supported by intense purple fruits and spices. This powerful wine really saturates the taste buds and vibrates on the back end, with spice and violet notes providing terrific lift. Built for a long life in bottle.
