Mainly sourced in Gueberschwihr and from 40+ year old vines, the 2014 Riesling Roche Calcaire indicates an intense and ripe fruit with lemon and grapefruit flavors. Full-bodied, round and juicy, this wine is provided with a silky texture and a finely racy acidity. This is a dense, salty and very aromatic Riesling with power and roundness. It also has a firm structure and a long finish with tension and a fruity intensity. Still a bit reductive at the moment (bottled February 24th, 2016), and with white English winegums, it will benefit from further bottle age. Yielded with 59 hectoliters per hectare and bottled with 12.6% alcohol.

Light and tight. Very dense with some wild flowers dancing across the palate. Great texture and self-confidence. Real chew on the end. Already quite charming. (JR)
Available from the cellar only. pH 3, TA 4.7 g/l (expressed as sulphuric), RS 7.5 g/l. Sweetness code 1 = technically dry or tastes dry. Very pale gold. Definite smoky aroma and just a hint of steely citrus. Intense, mouth-watering citrus on the palate. Surprisingly viscous texture with such moderate alcohol, perhaps the residual sugar helps in this respect, though it tastes pretty dry. With air, it becomes more aromatic, more fruity on the nose. Very tight, very crisp and super pure. (JH)
