(still in barrel, unracked, with very low sulfur): Aromas of citrus fruits, licorice, menthol and spices. Seriously deep yet delineated village wine with a strong spice character despite the fact that there's no new oak here. Supple, pliant and vibrant but with its brisk fruit a bit suppressed. Finishes with a faint dry edge that may be due to a recent copper treatment. Should make a stunning village wine.

(this vineyard is planted at a density of 20,000 vines per hectare): Vibrant but reticent aromas and flavors of yellow grapefruit, orange zest, pepper and spices. Really glistens with energy on the palate, conveying an impression of consistently ripe grapes with outstanding inner-mouth lift. Lamy says that these vines were not stressed in 2015 and ripened quickly at the end, resulting in good grape sugars with high acidity. He picked them on August 27! Wonderfully alive for a '15--not to mention for a village wine.
