Unfurling in the glass with notions of cherries, petals and sweet spices, the 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Village is medium to full-bodied, velvety and charming, with supple tannins, lively acids and a saline finish. It's a commendable effort from lieu-dit Champ Franc on Gevrey's alluvial fan, not far from the village sports center.

The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Village, which is from the same fermage as Cathiard's Hautes-Côtes, has a very ripe and opulent nose with just a touch of fresh fig filtering through the red fruit. The palate is well balanced with good depth, quite a voluminous Gevrey with a simple, lightly spiced finish. Fine.
