Tasting notes
Fresh and fascinating nose of herbs and crisp pears with some reine-claude plum character. An impressive example of this appellation, thanks to the concentration and pronounced, stony character. Very fresh in the 2020 vintage context, with plenty of energy. Excellent integration of minerality and fine tannins at the long finish. Drink or hold.

The 2020 Pernand-Vergelesses Les Caradeux 1er Cru was tightly coiled on the nose and less expressive than the Savigny-lès-Beaune by direct comparison. It eventually offers touches of orchard fruit and honeysuckle, but I would like to see more once in bottle. The palate is better with a lightly spiced entry, just a faint hints of wild peach and sour lemon, balanced though it just attenuates a little towards the finish. Closure: Diam
