Tasting notes
Certified organic (Ecocert) and biodynamically farmed. 50% Chardonnay, 25% Meunier, 25% Pinot Noir. Tirage June 2015, disgorged March 2023. Zero dosage, total added SO 2 11 mg/l. After three tetchy Marguet wines, it was a joy (and relief) to lift delicious aromas of peaches on buttered toast to my nose. This is good. Structural orange-pip, blood-orange-peel bitterness shimming peachy fruit and toasted walnuts. Regal and assertive. Positively owns the stage. Gets the blood pumping. (TC)

The 2014 Brut Nature Sapience Premier Cru is a blend of 50% Chardonnay and 25% of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir each, all picked in Ambonnay. The subtle creaminess and an amalgam of fresh white field mushroom and vanilla spell beautiful earthiness and evolution. The palate is fine, with that haunting spice of Nuremberg Lebkuchen , trailing hints of clove and cinnamon, bedded on creaminess. A lovely vein of fresh red apple flesh still features juiciness and crunch, deliciously so, in this ten-year-old wine. What a beautiful portrait of Pinot, what play, what smoothness, what generosity. The 2014 is elegant with exquisite length. Disgorged: March, 2023. - Anne Krebiehl MW
