Bright medium red. Vibrant, inviting aromas of red berries, flowers and mint. At once dense and tangy, with brisk acidity and a peppery element giving shape and grip to the flavors of cherry, berries, licorice, spices and smoky minerality. The dusty tannins hit the palate late, allowing the wine's fruit to express itself. Firmly structured for village wine.

The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin boasts striking purity in its bouquet. That intensity carries through to the palate, where a rich mélange of dark red fruit, flowers and spices comes to life. The balance and overall sense of harmony here are first-rate. The Gevrey is immensely pleasing, even today.

Medium red. Enticing high-toned aromas of minerals, violet and rose. Silky and energetic, with lovely pinot delicacy to its dark fruit, herb and spice flavors. A bit dry and youthfully tight on the back end. (Incidentally, Dugat's Bourgogne showed excellent sappiness and verve for the category.)

The balance and overall sense of harmony here are first-rate. The Gevrey is immensely pleasing, even today. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. (Not yet released) Claude Dugat’s 2010s are fabulous. The wines have a sense of tension and transparency that serves to balance the richness of the fruit that is the hallmark of the house style. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, New York City; tel.
