Tasting notes
From the Contrada Rampante. Cask sample. All stones and raspberry on the nose and a fine note of spice. Really fine and juicy, light and fragrant. Long with fine, crunchy tannins. Already irresistible. (WS)

The 2015 Rosso Contrada R opens with an evolved bouquet of ash, tobacco, earth tones and musky currants. Round and lifted in feel, it displays soft textures and ripe wild berry fruits, yet this lacks depth and concentration. Dark mineral notes linger along with a saturation of edgy tannins through the medium-length finish. The Rampante seems to have passed its peak, but there's still pleasure to be found.
