Tasted blind at the Southwold 2012 tasting, the 2012 Monbrison had a light and slightly "steely" bouquet that nevertheless had satisfactory definition and freshness. Hopefully it will develop more fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, easy-drinking in style with a carefree, brambly finish that you could argue ought to show more ambition. Drink over the next 4-6 years. Tasted January 2016.
Tasted blind. Sweet start with some green freshness. Bit tight and grainy. (JR)
Dark crimson. Very leafy and touch of white pepper but there's a sweet perfume on the nose as well. Juicy and scented on the palate too. Not particularly concentrated but shows harmony and freshness at the end. (JH)
