Tasting notes
The 2018 Grand Corbin Manuel retains the floral scents that I noted out of barrel, though it has dispensed with its glossiness and manifested a more refined and delineated bouquet, replete with light estuarine notes, mudflats and hints of mollusk. The palate is sweet and quite candied on the entry, offering finely tuned tannins, hints of tobacco threaded through the red berry fruit and a liberal sprinkling of white pepper furnishing the poised finish. While it will be tempting to imbibe early, it has gained weight and backbone, so it should drink for longer than I initially predicted.

The 2018 Grand Corbin Manuel has a very floral nose with precocious red fruit that feels a little glossy. Maybe picked just a day too late? The palate is sweet and very smooth: plush pliant tannins are very attractive, ditto the white pepper tinged red fruit and the tobacco infused finish. Not bad at all, though I would probably broach this in the short to medium-term.
