Score 87/100 · Drink 2017-2022, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Mar 2017
The 2014 La Mauriane is a wine that did not show well in barrel, but in bottle there is much improvement to be found. It has a forward blueberry and crushed strawberry bouquet with conspicuous vanilla/new oak that you instantly fall for. Obvious, but admittedly you find yourself smitten and it should enmesh with the fruit given another 12-18 months. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe red cherry and wild strawberry fruit, a lick of new oak on the creamy finish. Seductive and maybe obvious, yet balanced and well made.

Vivid aromas of plums and blackberries follow through to a full body, a lovely center palate of fruit and a chocolate undertone on the finish. Drink or hold.
