Score 88/100 · Drink 2022-2028, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2018
(includes a bit of premier cru juice; the yield here was about ten hectoliters per hectare): Good dark red. A bit stunted from the recent bottling, conveying hints of chocolate and damp earth. Then richer and chewier in the mouth than the preceding wines, but a bit disjointed today and lacking sweetness. Finishes with chewy, slightly dry tannins and good length. Louis Meunier says this wine has only 13% alcohol but I wanted a bit more energy. He also noted that it was much more supple prior to being bottled.
