Score 89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2011

(bottled in mid-September; these south-facing vines were harvested on September 7) Good full red. Very ripe aromas of cherry, flowers and smoky minerality. Broad, suave and dry but without any excess weight. Good fat wine with intriguing earth tones. Finishes dry and classic, with fine-grained tannins. In this vineyard, phenolic maturity in 2009 came before sugar maturity, noted Bernard Hervet.
