Score 96/100 · Drink 1994-2009, Robert Parker, Apr 1994

In 1990, Manzone offers two cuvees of super-ripe, opulent, dense, concentrated, full-bodied, sexy Barolo. Marc di Grazia, the representative of Manzone's wines, produced 140 cases of a special cuvee made from Manzone's oldest vines, the Barolo Le Gramolere "Di Grazia Cuvee". This nearly perfect wine offers a huge, opaque dark purple color, and a sweet, fragrant nose of floral scents (roses?), vanillin, and jammy black-cherries. Thick, chewy flavors with exceptional purity and delineation linger on the palate. The wine is well-structured, but most tasters will only notice the lavish quantities of fruit and richness. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. Importer: A Marc di Grazia Selection, Michael Skurnick Wines, Westbury, NY.
