Tasting notes
With fruit from Neive, the 2015 Barbaresco Albesani (with only 2,616 bottles made) is a delicate, almost fragile wine with a dark ruby shine. The bouquet is finessed and detail-oriented, with cassis, dried cranberry, smoky flint and a lifted tone of balsam herb or dried ginger. The wine is very fresh with beautifully balanced acidity and a bright point of candied violet or lilac on the graceful finish. Albesani is a princess in the Roagna family.

The 2015 Barbaresco Albesani is gracious, floral and lifted, which is not common in Albesani, where the wines tend to be more powerful. Bright acids and lively tannins give the 2015 its shape and energy. This translucent, inviting Barbaresco has so much to offer.
About the producer

Roagna is one of Italy’s finest estates, producing top, single-vineyard Nebbiolos in Barbaresco and Barolo. The estate’s Crichët Pajé Barbaresco is one of the rarest fine wine cuvées in Piedmont with fewer than 2,000 bottles produced each year.
