Score 88/100 · Drink 2019-2025, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2020
The 2013 Barbaresco Riserva Albesani Santo Stefano comes across as dried out and lacking in both freshness and body, especially for a wine meant to be cellared. I would suggest drinking the 2016 sooner rather than later, as it is already quite forward.

Neive. Tasted blind. Mid ruby with bricky rim. Intense, lifted nose of ripe fruit and a hint of tar. Succulent and supple and elegant and with gripping but fine tannins and lively acidity creeping up on the finish. Very long and tactile and still embryonic. (WS)
