Score 87-89/100 · Drink 2023-2032, Neal Martin, Dec 2020
The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Village comes from two climats , containing 50–60% whole bunch and matured with 25% new oak. This underwent no pigeage , unlike the other cuvées. The bouquet is well defined with cranberry and wild strawberry fruit and just a hint of vanilla in the background. The palate is spicy on the entry, touches of burned toast and black pepper infusing the red fruit. It fans out nicely on the finish. Classic in style and probably drinking after a couple of years post-bottling.
