Tasting notes
Whole-bunch fermentation is common in this domaine with all its monopoles. Cask sample. Pale crimson. Very whole-bunch on the nose – almost raw. But very sweet fruit on the palate with a light coffee note. Lots of juiciness and freshness but just a little simple. (JR)

Produced from young vines in the Clos d'Arlot, the 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Cuvée Mont des Oiseaux offers up a pure, fruit-driven bouquet of plums and berries, framed by a deft application of oak. Medium to full-bodied, ample and lively, it's fleshy and concentrated, with a charming, supple profile.
From a clonal selection of vines inside the Clos de l’Arlot and including 40% whole cluster, the 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Mont des Oiseaux 1er Cru offers fragrant red cherries, orange peel, brown spices and savory notes on the feisty nose. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins that render this a more structured Nuit Saint-Georges. The gritty, tight finish leaves ferrous hints on the aftertaste. Give it 2–3 years in bottle.
