(two of three barrels were new): Deep red-ruby. Black cherry, dark chocolate and game on the nose. Densely packed but nicely delineated, with enticing fruit sweetness leavened by bright acidity. This brisk, energetic Nuits-Saint-Georges finishes with fine-grained tannins and a note of chocolatey oak.

50% new oak. Small parcel in Aux Athées, a lieu-dit north of Nuits. Excellent combo of depth and energy. Really quite concentrated and firm. Dense and lively. Should make quite old bones. (JR)
