Would be Volnay if Pinot Noir. Pale straw. Broad and rich. Sweet and satisfying on the front palate though for the moment a little chalky on the end. Very juicy in the middle. Still very chewy. V youthful. Lemon strepsils. (JR)

Tasted not long before bottling. Racy and less distinctive than the reds on the nose. Medium weight and very correct – even a bit severe and lacking juice – but sincerely meant. Bone-dry finish. Well behaved. Well balanced. Sweet and lemony. (JR)

The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Santenots, which incidentally was 90% devastated in 2016, has a crisp, slightly resinous, dried flower bouquet that is well defined, almost Puligny-like in style thanks to its correctness. The palate is well balanced with an attractive creaminess on the entry, lightly honeyed with a clean, slightly viscous finish that lingers nicely in the mouth. For early-drinking pleasure.
