The 2013 Arbois Trois Cépages is a red blend of the three red grapes from Jura: Pinot Noir (60%) and the rest Trousseau with just 5% Poulsard, aged for one year in used barriques. It’s very pure and clean with aromas of wild red berries; it's light colored, clean, precise with tension, with higher acidity than a Burgundy, and with more red blood orange aromas and some meaty undertones. The texture is fine, silky and very elegant. Great acidity and finesse, it drinks very well. Village at Bourgogne Rouge prices! 7,000 bottles produced.

60% Pinot Noir, 35% Trousseau, 5% Poulsard. d’Angerville acknowledges that in future he must try vinifying these varieties separately – particularly the signature Jura red wine grape Trousseau. Blueish crimson – quite a different hue from the Trois Cépages 2012, and much deeper. Bright fresh fruit aromas – very different from the 2012 and arguably a little less Juroid. (JR)
