Score 93/100 · Drink 2019-2030, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Jan 2019
The base of this wine is Sangiovese (50%) but Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) and Petit Verdot (25%) have been added to the blend. The 2016 Lemartine is the most extracted and powerful of the three new releases presented by Poggio Antico this year. This is a full-bodied red that shows deep fruit intensity and rich textural fiber. The generous core of the wine is laced with enriched threads of spice, tobacco and barbecue smoke. This is a contemporary and bold wine to pair with barbecued pork ribs.
