Coming from very old vines in the Péssac-Léognan region and based on 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon, the 2021 Château Lespault-Martillac Blanc offers up a rocking bouquet of ripe lemon, honeyed grapefruit, and sappy, white flower-like nuances. With medium-bodied richness, terrific purity, integrated acidity, and a great finish, it's another lively, crisp, age-worthy white in the vintage. It should have 10-12 years of prime drinking.

The 2021 Lespault-Martillac Blanc has a taut and focused bouquet with petrichor, Granny Smiths and touches of lemon rind, but none of the chamomile that I picked up from barrel. The palate is well-balanced with a silver bead of acidity that keeps this on its toes. Fresh, tensile and moderately long, this has a touch of lemon zest and mandarin on the finish. It will be difficult to resist in its youth, but it will age.
The 2021 Lespault-Martillac Blanc is a powerful dry white with an almost phenolic feel. Lemon peel, sage, mint and yellow flowers lend notable complexity. There is a bit of firmness here, but all the elements are nicely balanced. The 2021 is more muscle than finesse, but it works.
A blend of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Sémillon, the 2021 Blanc, crafted from vines planted on clay-limestone soils, exhales a fruity, generous bouquet with aromas of lemon oil, lemon confit, sweet spices and herbs. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and round, it’s seamless with a bright core of fruit and a saline, delicate finish.
