The 2021 Clos Manou is very composed and delineated on the nose—graceful, showing up a lot of inferior Médoc wines in this vintage. The palate is medium-bodied with a pastille-like purity on the entry, a dab of soy infusing the black fruit. The finish is quite persistent. This is a well-crafted Médoc from Françoise and Stéphane Dief.
The 2021 Clos Manou is a bold, juicy Médoc to drink now and over the next handful of years. Blackberry, espresso, gravel, licorice, spice and sweet French oak build nicely in this showy, succulent 2021.
This estate always stands out, but the 2021 Clos Manou is even more remarkable in the context of the vintage. Wafting from the glass with notes of dark berries and cherries mingled with notes of mint, violet and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, suave and polished, with a sweet core of fruit, supple tannins and a long, pure finish.

Clos Manou is one of Bordeaux’s most under-rated addresses. The tiny estate is in the northern reaches of the Médoc, but produces wine that puts some Classed Growths to shame.
