Tasting notes
Deep ruby. Allspice, licorice and smoky mineral accents accompany the vibrant aromas of fresh black and blue fruits and candied flowers. Juicy and pliant on the palate, showing firm cut to its appealingly sweet blueberry, cherry, candied violet and spicecake flavors. Finishes smoky and very long, with harmonious tannins adding shape and gentle grip. 20% new oak.

Enveloping nose of ripe mulberry, the smoke and black pepper notes we associate with this appellation pushed into the background by itâs intensity. At once ripe, structured and creamy, the generous tannins are wrapped in wonderful berry sweetness right through the very long finish.
Tasted as a tank sample of the final blend, the 2020 Cornas la Louvee comes from a single plot in the lieu-dit of La Côte. It's loaded with purple raspberries, shot through with vaguely herbal streaks, yet is impressively full-bodied and concentrated, with a long, velvety finish.
