A blend of 55% Sauvignon and the rest Semillon, the light gold-hued 2022 Clos Marsalette Blanc has a solid nose of ripe lemon and honeyed orange as well as a medium-bodied, nicely textured, balanced, elegant, yet richer style on the palate.

The 2022 Clos Marsalette Blanc has a fresh, well-defined nose with wax resin and freshly sliced pear, but it takes five or ten minutes to open. The palate is well balanced, with a slightly viscous texture counterbalanced by a keen line of acidity. This is quite complex on the stem ginger- and orange rind-tinged finish. Don't be afraid to decant this white Pessac-Léognan.
Bright, intense, rich and silky, needs lift. Sweet shots of intense pink grapefruit and citrus, with edges of candyfloss. Sand-gravel soils that were challenging in the vintage, and here the white harvest was September 14 to 15 due to vines blocking in the heat. 45hl/h yield, 25% new oak.
The 2022 Clos Marsalette Blanc turned out beautifully. There's an exotic quality that is palpable. More than anything else, the 2022 has come together beautifully with élevage. Apricot, passion fruit, marzipan, tangerine peel and spice fill out the layers beautifully. This has enough structure to be quite versatile at the dinner table.
