2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

An understated bouquet of crushed woodland berries, cinnamon, cloves and flowery undergrowth lifts up from the 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. It’s silky and pliant in feel, offering a mix of tart cherry, strawberry and saline minerals that creates a sense of inner tension toward the close. A mix of licorice and purple-tinged florals resonates throughout the long finish, along with a gentle tug of fine tannin. Lisini really did a wonderful job of capturing the beauty of the 2015 vintage without allowing its power to overwhelm the fruit.
