Situated at the borders of the appellation Saint-Estèphe but within the appellation Médoc, the 2022 Larrivaux reveals a somber, dark bouquet of spices and dark berries mingled with elegant toasty notes. Medium to full-bodied, dense and concentrated with structured tannins, it's well-balanced with a long and a bit firm finish.
From vines next to Saint-Estèphe, in the northern part of the appellation, the 2022 Château Larrivaux is deep purple-hued and has a gorgeous nose of cassis, black cherries, graphite, damp earth, and spicy oak. This carries to a medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, layered, textured 2022 that has plenty of mid-palate depth, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It should have a minimum of 10-12 years of longevity.
The 2022 Larrivaux has a vibrant nose with a mixture of red and black fruit, cedar and loamy scents emerging with time. It shows fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and focused with grainy tannins and hints of cedar and mint in the background, heading toward the controlled, persistent finish. What a fine Haut-Médoc this is.
