Tasting notes
Bright purple. A complex, expansive bouquet displays fresh dark berry, cherry and incense qualities, and a smoky mineral nuance builds in the glass. Concentrated yet energetic and precise, offering sweet blackberry, boysenberry and spicecake flavors supported by a spine of vibrant minerality. Clings with strong tenacity on the youthfully tannic, floral-tinged finish, leaving behind a juicy blue fruit note.

Pure class, with fabulous notes of black raspberries, spiced meats, bacon fat and pepper, the 2014 Côte Rôtie Lancement is medium-bodied, beautifully concentrated, layered and impeccably balanced. It's about as textbook as they come (even though it was aged 20 months in 50% new French oak), has no hard edges, ripe, present tannin and a great finish. Bravo!
