The ruby-colored 1997 Nuits-St.-Georges aux Vignes Rondes displays sweet red cherry and violet-laden aromas. Medium-to-full-bodied and powerful, this tightly-wound, foursquare offering is filled with road tar, stone, and blackberry flavors. It is impressively structured, muscular, and intense. Good red-ruby. Expressive, complex nose combines cassis, black raspberry, leather, minerals and smoke. Sweet and silky, with sound acidity but a complete absence of rough edges. Very good length.
