Score 91-94/100 · Drink 2011, Robert Parker, Aug 1999
The superb, saturated ruby/purple-colored 1996 Barolo Vigna Conca is a massive effort with oodles of black cherry fruit intertwined with licorice, smoke, and spicy elements. Full-bodied and super-concentrated, with copious quantities of glycerin, it is soft and voluptuous. Enjoy it now and over the next 10-12 years. This is a Marc de Grazia Selection, with various American importers, including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300, Vin Divino, Chicago, IL; tel. (773) 334-6700, and Estate Wines, Ltd., San Rafael, CA; tel. (415) 492-9411
