Score 91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2004
Bright red-ruby. Highly nuanced nose combines black raspberry, minerals, gunflint, spicecake, chocolate, meat and smoky oak, plus exotic suggestions of peach and apricot. Sweet, pliant and generous, with flavors of game, chocolate and spicecake. Finishes with lush, sweet tannins and impressive ripeness.
