The 2022 Dauzac is bolder on the nose compared to the Boyd-Cantenac, with blackberry and bilberry fruit, more prominent in terms of oak although that will be assimilated with bottle age. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit and a dash of soy on the mid-palate. Good depth towards the primal finish, this bodes well for the future. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.

Redcurrants, cassis, spicy oak, and floral notes are just some of the nuances in the 2022 Château Dauzac, a pure, medium to full-bodied Margaux that has terrific overall balance, nicely integrated tannins, and a great finish. It’s beautifully done and just another brilliant Margaux in the vintage that has so much to love.

The 2022 Dauzac has another intense bouquet, with blacker fruit than it showed from barrel, though still well defined and vibrant. Touches of blueberry and violet emerge with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied and quite fleshy, with succulent ripe tannins, fine weight, purity and a layered, spicy finish. It's opulent for Dauzac, though this is still well made and quite delicious.

The brightness of fruit with blackcurrants, cedar and lead pencil is so vivid here. Medium- to full-bodied with integrated and polished tannins and focused fruit that remains fresh and tensioned. The solid center palate showcases density and balance. Seamless and really long. An exciting vintage from Dauzac. Drink after 2027.
