Score 96/100 · Audrey Frick, jebdunnuck.com, Dec 2025

The 2008 Champagne Blanc de Noirs Côte de Béchalin is 100% Pinot Noir from a parcel planted in 1990 on clay and limestone, with southwest and west exposures. Roughly 2,000 bottles were produced. Disgorged in April 2011, it evolves constantly in the glass, revealing wet stones as it opens, followed by pure stone fruit, red berries, concentrated distilled citrus, and savory freshness. As it opens, it speaks of energy and sunshine. The wine is pure and has fantastic energy, with a crystalline, pinpoint-focused mousse that is incredibly fresh. It offers fruit, but above all, it has balance, with a rounded and fine mouthfeel. It feels immortal and should drink well for decades. No filtration and zero dosage for all of these wines.
