The white from Grand Village is brilliant in 2022. The Fronsac property’s clay-limestone soils clearly handled 2022’s dry conditions superbly. It’s incredibly different to Les Champs Libres as well, more generous and open – with pithy, lime zest, Granny Smith apple and mineral tones on the nose. On the palate it opens up more, combining an elegant, chalky, saline character with restrained yet zingy fruit, a core of white peach and a roundness from lees-work. Delicious. Blend: 70% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Semillon

With notes of pear, white peach, boxwood and bay leaf, the 2022 Grand Village Blanc is a charming, delicate, bright white wine that possesses a medium to full-bodied, round and seamless palate enhanced by bright acids, and it has a long, penetrating finish. This is a blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Sémillon.
A brilliant white Fronsac, the 2022 Grand Village Blanc is bright, juicy, and beautifully textured, with crushed stone, mint, lime, and chalky minerality all defining its aromatics. Medium-bodied and fresh on the palate, it shows remarkable purity and elegance, with a clean, focused finish. Its oak (one-third new) is perfectly integrated. You could drink this today or in a decade.
