Medium red. High-toned nose dominated by plum and earth. Supple, fat and ripe, with flavors of plum, spice, minerals, underbrush and earth. Finishes with broad, dusty tannins. My enthusiasm was tempered by the wineÂ’s somewhat advanced quality.

Medium red, less saturated than the village wine. Redcurrant aroma, along with strong cinnamon oak spice character. Sweet on entry, then juicy in the middle, with red fruit and spice flavors. Seems hardened by its 100% new oak, with the wood tannins giving the finish a distinctly dry edge. Today I prefer the balance of the village Vosne, which seems equally ripe-and much less oaky.
