Tasting notes
100% Sangiovese. Their top wine, a cellar selection bottled at three to four years old, created in 2015 or 2016. It could theoretically be labelled Chianti Classico but, observed Karl Egger, the Linz industrialist who owns the estate, ‘Pricewise, not’. Fresh, lively and transparent. Supremely easy to drink. The 2018 Uno presents a dark, virile expression of Sangiovese from Radda. A wine of muscle and tannic heft, Uno offers up sweet dark cherry, leather, dried flowers and herbs, all in a virile, potent style that is hugely appealing. Like all of Sean O'Callaghan's wines, Uno delivers tons of character and personality.
Very perfumed with cherries, flowers and fresh spices on the nose. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins and a long finish. Refined, pretty sangiovese. Very pure and lovely to drink now.
